Why Did You Get Into Derby:
I was a HUGE derby fan when Naptown began and loved the sport. I had been asked to ref, but had no desire. Then one magical day I learned that there was a men's derby team in Indy. After a few months of doubt, speculation and numerous talks with friends to check my sanity I decided to throw caution to the wind and went for it.
Where'd Your Derby Name/Number Come From:
My derby name originated from my love of old school hot rods and cars in general. Hot Rod was already taken and being the Hawt fellow that I am, it was a natural fit. Then as a joke pulled from the movie Cars, we threw "The" in front of it and The Hawt Rod was born.
My original number was going to be 1215 as that is my wedding anniversary and acknowledgment of the lovely Mrs. The Hawt Rod. But since we went to a 2 number scheme, I just added the pairs together and BAM, #36 it is.
Tell Us Three Odd Things About Yourself:
I love old school vintage cars, hot rods, motorcycles. I'm a video game nerd.I love cheap beer and fine bourbon... A LOT
List Four Favorite Movies:
Movies: The Crow, Whip It, Seven, anything that makes me laugh or keeps me on the edge of my seat.
Books: huh? Do Xbox magazines count?
Video Games: RPG's with awesome stories, Racing and blowing stuff up.
Worst/Best Derby Injury:
So far just aches, bruises and swelling. Knock on wood.
